Good News Stories & Testimonies

In the bible it says that God would send his Son to us, His name shall be called Emanuel (which mean "God with us" in Hebrew). It is the name used to describe Jesus in Isaiah chapters 7 & 8 and Matthew chapter 1.

The bible also teaches us that Jesus is the only way to God. In John chapter 14 verse 6 it says this; Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".

In John chapter 14 verses 25 through 27 Jesus tell us: "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

This is essentially the Good News of Jesus Christ and below are real stories from 2008 of how God has worked in our lives through the power of His Holy Spirit. Read and be encouraged that God loves you, here and now and he wants you too get to know him better and have true freedom in Him.

The real stories of 2008

God is good, over the past few months we have seen and experienced a portion of the Glory of God and we want more! People have been saved (come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour), People have been physically healed (aches, pains, lumps, eyesight and more) and God is encouraging us to pursue him and holiness, re-ordering our hearts and pouring out his love. Oh and He's also providing the resources and finances we need to achieve His purpose in our lives.

Story 1 is from Christine

Christine (our CAP Centre Manager) has a great testimony to share with us. After coming to the "Catch the Glory" meeting last week she saw real breakthrough and encouragement from God. In her own words.... "I just felt i had to share with you all the great day I had yesterday with a couple of clients. After a difficult day on monday when I felt very discouraged with clients not responding, I went to the tuesday evening meeting and was prayed for basically to be refreshed and to see fruit from my work. On Friday I visited a client who has been struggling to pay her mortgage and was being threatened with eviction if she didn't find £1,200 immediately. on the first visit to her I prayed that God would do something surprising for her as evidence of his hand on her life. She told me that after struggling all day to reason with the mortgage company and only receiving negative responses felt there was nothing more she could do and thought she could soon be made homeless. At 9.30pm that evening a man she didn't know knocked on her door and asked if he could buy the car on her driveway. He offered her £1,200 in cash! she contacted her ex boyfriend who owned the car . he agreed she could sell it and have the money to pay the mortgage ! What an amazing sign of God's provision! I then took this ladies standing order form to the bank and met a manager who was a christian and said he wanted to start a debt advice centre in their Christian Fellowship in Woodhouse. This was followed by a visit to another client who wanted to know what it meant to be a Christian and I had the privilege of leading her through the Why Jesus booklet and she plans to come to church on sunday. Praise God for His wonderful love for those who turn to Him!
