St Matthias Church began life on the 10th of November 1854. Which means that on the 10th November 2004 we began our 150th year. We planned some things to celebrate:-
14th November - a special service with Bishop John Packer followed by a celebration lunch in the Church Centre.
A Christmas Fayre 4th Dec 2004 in Church Centre - all proceed to Christians Against Poverty and our own Church Reordering scheme.
A booklet has been produced looking at the last 50 years particularly in the life of the Church. This will complement the booklet 'The Story of Burley Parish Church 1854-1954' produced on the 100th anniversary, which is available online at the burleygreen.com web site.
We produced a Calender to celebrate with photos of some of our yearly events and some special packs of cards have been produced by our resident artist Jim Robinson! We also plan to have postcards made of the Church.

In November 2005 we held another celebration to mark the end of the year.
