Reordering Letter September 2002

(This letter was sent to every member of the congregation at the beginning of September)

At this year’s Annual Parochial Church Meeting the issue of re-ordering was discussed at some length following extensive consideration by the PCC during the previous year.

Although most people felt that there was a need to do something about the interior of the church, it emerged that many would welcome a further opportunity to consider the issues and proposals before a final decision was made.

In the spirit of the meeting the PCC has set aside the month of September for discussion, consideration of the proposals and prayer about the proposed re-ordering of the church.

To provide everybody who wants to join together to think about the possibilities an open event is planned for Monday 9th September from 8pm in the Church. All members of the congregation are invited to come along to this evening.

Details of the meeting are yet to be finalised but will probably involve a short presentation by Andy Crump who is taking the plans forward for the PCC, followed by small feedback groups aimed at giving everybody an equal chance to share their views.

Following this, a firm decision will be made about the way forward, so it is vitally important that we know your views.

The PCC is writing to every member of the congregation to make sure everybody has a chance to participate and share as fully as possible in the decisions that have to be made during the coming months about the church building. If you can’t make it on the night, the new plans will be on display from the beginning of September in church and any member of the PCC will be pleased to listen and take on board your comments.

Recently an idea for the development of a community based IT training Centre in the Church has been proposed - further details will be explained at the meeting It is anticipated that some government funding would be available for this.
