Mission And Outreach

World Workers

St Matthias has a history of sending out and supporting people dedicated to spreading the Good News about Jesus.

We currently have or are supporting people:

In Egypt, teaching english and working in a bible school.
In Thailand, teaching english, working with families in the slums and with prostitutes showing the love of Jesus through their words and through their love.
Prayer Walking throughout the UK and Europe.
At Bible school and in formal training in the UK

We also have links with countries and organisations in central Asia.

Outreach

W e hold numerous "Special Events" throughout the year but our "old faithful" include:

Alpha Course: Discuss Christianity over a meal (10 week course)
Light Party: Kids party on 31st October
Bonfire Night: Pies, peas & pyrotechnics
Carol Concert: Get ready for Christmas
Christians Against Poverty: A debt counselling service

There are also joint mission events that we are involved in such as:

Hope08: A city wide mission in throughout 2008

The Overflow Room

Worship Jesus as we join the gathering in Lakeland, Florida live. This will be via an internet link up in the church. Come and join us as we pursue God, hungry for him. 1200am - 0400am (approx). Last time we met God blessed us with his presence as we opened out hearts and worshipped Him. He brought freedom and belonging, through His Power and His Glory, don't miss out come and get some!
