Burley Family Resource Network

In the autumn of last year Keith & Sue got together with a couple of other Church leaders in the area - Mike Winter (Word of Life Church) and Simon Hall (Revive Church) to look at provision for parents in the area.

Working as the Church in Burley we felt that together, we would like to try and fund someone for one day a week initially who could effectively work to support families in the area - but not duplicate anything else!

Part of this role would be to oversee Parents and Toddlers and work with volunteers in the group to see its continued growth and development.

We applied to Leeds Christian Community Trust - a local Leeds based Charity which supports joint Church projects, and I am pleased to say we were successful in our application for funding a new venture called 'Burley Family Resource Network'.

As a result we recently appointed a family support worker called Emma Flint, who is a mum with a toddler - Lenny aged 2 and another baby on the way. Emma has worked for a number of years with Leeds Faith In Schools and has a wide range of experience with varying age groups.
